Taking a long warm shower after a stressful day is always deserving. No matter how hard you think about it, you will agree that it is refreshing and helps to calm your nerves and muscles. Nothing beats a warm shower. Making this a possibility is one of the major concerns of a homeowner when buying or renovating their bathroom or shower heads. All the more reason why shower mixer taps are your best bet.
You might wonder why and how; that would be explained in this article.
Putting a kettle or a pot on the fire to get yourself a host or warm water bath is not ideal, not when there are other means by which you can do so. Other means, which by the way might be expensive only if you buy from a reputable company, where they care the most about their customer’s satisfaction.
Your bathroom can never be complete without a shower mixer and an outstanding shower mixer tap is the key to having a great shower time.
Below are the different types of shower mixers for you
- The double-handle shower mixer. This shower mixer has two handles, for cold and hot water respectively. It however does not seem economical because it might take you a while to get your desired temperature when wanting to have your bath.
- The mechanical shower mixer. This mixer has a single lever which can be used to control both cold and hot water. It also has a knob that can be used in controlling the flow and water intensity. It’s easy to handle but also takes a while for you to get your desired water temperature.
- The thermostatic mixing valve. This mixer, unlike the double-handed shower mixer and the mechanical show mixer, has two controls. One regulates the flow of water while the other controls the temperature. Your desired water temperature can be set and maintained such that it is blocked when a particular degree is reached. This allows for a limit on scalding and the risk of burns, especially in children. Because of the anti-scalding system it has installed, it can be used by kids too.
All these types have their advantages and disadvantages. The first two as mentioned above will help you in reducing the cost of water spent but are not economically efficient. The thermostatic mixer valve on the other hand is economically efficient but can drain your purse as it uses a lot of water. Despite its advantage over the others, it is not recommended if you have a low budget.
